Prayer Meeting -- May 1st

Tomorrow's prayer meeting is canceled since the pastor will be at Regional Synod, or Particular Synod, (depending how old and/or anal you are). Please be in prayer at home and plan to join us for worship Sunday morning at 10:30 AM

The church can't pray without its pastor?

Rev. Dr. Peter A. Butler, Jr. said...

The church certainly can pray without the pastor! In our current situation, there is only one person who occaisionally comes to the prayer meeting. This person does not have the keys to the church, and if no one else is there, it is more pratical to just stay home. It is also a matter of safety and security in our area -- we cannot just leave the building open for anyone who might want to come; we have to keep the doors monitored and/or locked. But, certainly, every Christan can pray to God with or without the pastor, alone and in groups. Let us all be in prayer -- and should the group at our church grow, I would have no problem leaving someone else in charge of the meeting.
