On Isaiah 5:26 --
"The courses and destinies of the nations are in the hands of God. A nation may deceive itself into thinking it is taking matters into its own hands. We need but reflect upon Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Soviet Russia, and all too often our own country. The Assyrians thought that in entering upon a course of aggression they were on their own. They did not consider that they were but tools in the hands of the sovereign Lord of hosts. Actually, they moved only because God in His providence, permitted them to move." -- E. J.
