It was my intention to post this yesterday, but, good intentions...
So, Happy 1,587th Anniversary and one day of the ruling of the Third Ecumenical Council that confirms that the Virgin Mary is Theotokos -- the mother of God -- not merely Christotokos -- the mother of Christ. A point of vital importance in this distinction is whether or not Jesus was born with Original Sin (a sin nature/the inclination to sin). The Council ruled that the Scripture teaches that Jesus is both fully God and fully human in the same person, therefore, He is unable to have Original Sin. If Jesus was merely the Christ and not fully God, He could have been born with Original Sin, and then, could not be the Christ -- the Savior. Well done, council!
